Here are a selection of things we recorded, but didn't put on the last album. Some of them are just silly. One day there might be enough b-sides to make a full album, like Oasis did with The Masterplan, which strangely enough was better than anything they've put out since. Yesterday's scraps trumping today's supposed a-material. Still make money though, don't they? Sadly yes, some people have no imagination.

These recordings are either incomplete, don't do the song justice, are rushed or just rubbish. Make your own mind up, dig your own hole and choose your own adventure.

Here is a video of Crust, Cal and Myself pissing about, having a bit of a jam and making up nonsense songs. Whilst this isn't isn't a very listenable session, with lyrics falling out like a messy piss, it does offer an insight into what it can be like when we are just feeling about for starting points. This is often how our proper songs start out.

Hey there scamps. We have fully recorded our album I reckon. There might be a few bits to do here and there but it's basically done. We haven't done much for the past few weeks because Jimi has gone away travelling. We'll probably release it when he gets back. Hey scouts we've got this 61 swing style up and running where people heart songs and our popularity is boosted somewhat. You can also download them. It'd be swell if you could all go over there and heart our songs. There is a new song called "Pocket Thief" up and it needs fueling up the charts so we can rub shoulders with Cher and The Jonas Brothers.

Here's a brand new song for all you lovely people. It's called Rickety Bones and will be on our next album. Jimi provides the lead vocal with Crust piping in to join him part way through. The entire song is based around a looped section of a jam we recorded on tape. It's a long one.

New album in the works

We're currently laying down some bits for a new Grape Diggers album. Some of the songs have been kicking around without a home for years, some are brand new spontaneous creations. It's hard to tell how long it will take but we're stepping up the pace due to the fact we won't all be living together next year. We've come to realise that the true Grape Diggers sound comes out when we jam freely, improvise and play off each other so there's more focus this time is to capture that kind of energy.

If you've been keeping up to date with the Diggers then you may recognise a good few of these tracks, but there should definitely be a few surprises in store.

In other news, we will be compiling an album of dirty tape sessions in the near future that we recorded between 2003 and 2008. The songs will be messy, the quality will be varied and some of the tracks will seem to go on forever, but it's a more honest side of a band not known for their professionalism, but more for their hazy tape recordings and mild banter.

Lemonade Man

We have a new song and it's called LEMONADE MAN. The song was originally started in 2005 as a reggae song with melodica, but in true Grape Diggers fashion it was left untouched for years. Flash forward to the present day and we start jamming a silly little Jamaican sounding song that has the exact same chords - put the two together and a cool glass of Lemonade Man is ready for the drinking. This song sets two records for us, one as the grape diggers song with the most collaborators on it (5) and the second being the longest a partially recorded song has ever been left before being finished.

The Insurance Band EP

It's a bit of a fuzzy mess, with some melodic bits and some silly bits. That bloke at a computer was the original cover which I either forgot about or just decided was crap. Audio Jam #1

Audio Jam #1. (30 Minutes)It's a brand new Jam here recorded on the 12th June 2007. No visuals here, but much better sound quality than before. It's also our first recorded Jam with Callum Whitelegs on JEMBE. This session differs quite a bit from the others because, rather than play through a bunch of songs that we've practiced to a certain degree of tightness, we just let it flow and got lost in them letting things get a bit experimental and post-rockish.

Tracklistable: (sort of) Travelling Mind, Cock Fest, Sleepy Song, Magical Announcer, Instrumental, Square Moon with bits of a Cyber-Craig type song scattered about.
